Christmas '09

We spent our Christmas at home with our little family. We really missed being with our extended family. But we really enjoyed making our kids the center of everything. And it was fun to create our own traditions together as a family. We had a personal choice dinner Christmas Eve with chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, chicken noodle soup, veggies and cookies. We then read and acted out the Christmas Story with the boys quadruple cast. They were so excited to be the people in the story. I was Mary, Andrew was Joseph, Michael was baby Jesus, Jeremy was the donkey ( My Dad was always the donkey growing up, always ) and Jacob was the innkeeper. Then we had two shepherds, then we had three wise men following the star(Jeremy) all over the house. They finally made it back to me and Michael sitting in the rocking chair. They were so cute. Then we opened our Christmas pajamas, wrote Santa a note and left him some cookies and milk. We had prayer and were off to bed. Jacob and Michael went to sleep pretty easily, but poor Andrew was awake with ears perked for any sound. Amazingly we all slept until about 8 when Michael woke up. We went down and opened presents and spent the day playing together. We got a Wii this year and everyone had fun playing. I fought video games for a long time, but this one has everyone up and playing and moving together. We had such a fun time.
