A long one!

I don't know if anyone remembers but, the neighborhood school where Andrew is supposed to attend isn't a very good one. The test scores are not good and I haven't heard good things about the teachers and I didn't feel good about the school when I visited. So, I was putting a lot of faith into the open enrollment even though we filled out the form past the deadline. The deadline came before we found we were staying in Tucson. And just the other day, I checked the mail and Andrew was accepted to Whitmore Elementary School! Hooray! He didn't have to take tests or anything, we were just lucky that there was an opening. Funny thing is, I put it as my third choice and I didn't even know why, I just had to have one more and the name stood out to me.  Then later, I was talking to a friend at church and she said she loves the school, her daughter goes there. And I heard other great things and it isn't too far from our house - about an 8-10 minute drive. It is a real answer to prayer, I feel like the Lord has His hand in the little details - like a good place for my baby to start school. I have been praying that Andrew would have the right teacher that could help him to grow and progress and give him a exciting beginning to all the years of school. He only has two more weeks of preschool.
My friend, Sarah who I knew from Austin came into town with her mom and sister for a spa weekend. (Mama and sisters - doesn't that sound like fun?) So, I was able to see her and have a fun night catching up and she met Michael for the first time. I was 8 months pregnant when we moved away from each other.
Jeremy and I went on a date for the first time in a long time. As part of his job, Jeremy is expected to attend all the theatre productions.  This one was a musical, Urinetown. Thankfully, they give him comp tickets because even with a faculty discount the tickets are 25 dollars. The funny thing is I just found he gets the comps when I called to get the tickets, which means he has paid for four other shows! Oh, well. But, I loved the show. The cast was great, most were seniors ready to head off to NY.  It is a really unusual show all about fighting for the right to pee for free. It is really funny. Not inappropriate, just funny.  I had a funny experience in Europe when I didn't realize I had to pay and had no money on me, thankfully Daddy walked up right then!  It was fun to go out with Jeremy and know the kids would be fine without us. We have some friends now with kids the same ages as Andrew and Jacob. They had a great time, too. We went and grabbed some pizza before the show at a place close to campus called No, Anchovies. It is super casual and doubles as a bar. The artistic director of the Arizona Rep. Theatre took Jeremy and another cast mate there after rehearsal late one night when we first moved here. And they carded him! He is 31 almost 32 years old in June and he thought it was so funny. Ironically he was the one only drinking Dr. Pepper. :) It was nice to hold hands and walk to the theatre together just the two of us.

That is so great that Andrew was able to get into a good school! I bet he is so excited to start! I can't believe you are going to have a child in school! Will he go full or half day? Fun to have a date night too! I'm jealous ;).

I am so glad that Andrew got into the school you wanted - the Lord truly is blessing your little family. It's nice that you get to go to shows for free - definetly something to take advantage of more often! I hear that Jeremy gets to take over some classes and that your salary will get to go up! Hooray! That is wonderful.
